Be Comfortable-The design of the Moby Wrap uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the wight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and simple to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners. It is simple to adjust the fit of your Moby Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and your baby.

I love this carrier! It does take practice to get it just right for you and your baby, but it is SURPRISINGLY EASY to wrap. Only took me once to learn how to do it. very versitile and VERY comfortable on my bad back! My daughter (2 mos. old now) has acid reflux, so she LOVED being upright in this carrier, and snuggled chest to chest close to Mama. Made those long nights of carrying her around while she cried, MUCH easier! This is my 4th child, and I’ve never had a carrier that baby could be THIS snuggly, close and secure in!! I absolutely love it, and so does she.
Here’s my ONE complaint. — I had a summer baby and the Moby was TOO HOT to wear much! Especially outside! It doesn’t help that my baby happens to be a little heat box anyway, even when NOT in the Moby. I have been looking forward to cooler weather so that I can use it more often! I imagine baby and I are gonna LOVE the warmth of snuggling in the Moby this winter!
Helpful Tip — When you are going out with baby in the car, and you want to put him/her in the Moby when you get to your destination… put Moby on BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE. That way, you aren’t standing in a parking lot getting the Moby all dirty while you try to put it on (it’s VERY long and hits the ground as you’re wrapping it, but NOT once it’s wrapped). I found this to be a very easy solution. I could take baby right out of the carseat and pop her in the Moby and go.
This is an item not many people in my area of the country have seen. I’ve never seen another mom with one. I get a lot of looks and questions about it. Once, while wearing her all hidden inside it at an Asian buffet, the Manager kept watching me, with a troubled expression on his face, until he finally figured out it was a baby. I think he either thought that I was smuggling food out, or that I had a dog in there! LOL. It’s definitely a conversation starter!

Prior to using the Moby Wrap, I used the Infantino sling and the Baby Bjorn. The Moby Wrap is, by far, the most comfortable one. It distributes the weight of the baby evenly across the back, reducing neck and shoulder pain. The process of getting the wrap on is a bit daunting at first, but with some practice it becomes super easy.

My husband and I both enjoy carrying our daughter in this, and I’ve been asked where to get one almost every time I’ve used it. I was worried that it would be a hassle to use, like a big origami project every time I wanted to bring the baby out. But no, it’s very easy and quick, I promise. I’m cursed with a bad back, so my other concern was that wearing my baby would be painful for me. Perhaps with a more “strappy” type of carrier, but this distributes the baby’s weight evenly and elegantly. My only word of warning is that babies could overheat if worn for a while on a hot day, particularly if you’re a warm person, so just use some common sense.

I’ve spent a lot of money on baby carriers over the years. With each one I’d hoped I had finally found “THE ONE”. The carrier that would actually work as advertised and not hurt my back or shoulders. The carrier that would be versatile enough to use for my children both as newborns and as small toddlers. The Moby Wrap is that carrier. I wish I had this carrier when my oldest was a baby, instead of having it with may youngest and last. When my brother first saw this carrier he said, “Which 3rd world country did you get that from?”. And he’s right. A form of this carrier has been around for hundreds of years – and they work! Moby Wraps come in a variety of colors and are even available in silk for those dressier occasions when you don’t want to have to carry your baby on your hip or push them around in a cumbersome stroller. I have worn my wrap just about everywhere, and you can carry a small child up to 35lbs without any problems. If your shoulders start to hurt, you simply need to adjust the fabric. I can’t say enough about this wonderful wrap.

I was distressed to see the Moby wrap on someones “waste of money” list and I have to disagree. The wrap was worth every penny. I only wish that I had bought it sooner. I started using it when my son was 6 weeks and it saved my life (and sanity). On some days putting him facing me was the only way I could get him to sleep. It was the only way I could go shopping, out to eat, etc. It helped me so much the first 5 or 6 months. Even my husband used it (which is why we own a black one, masculine color). Babies just love to be close to their mommies!
