This is the first time I have ever written a review. I felt the need to tell other moms out there that this is the best $120.00 I have spent since having my baby!!! I bought the Ergo Baby when my little guy was 5 months old. He is 9.5 months now and still loves it. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner. He LOVES it!! I don’t know how moms can live with out it. I also had the Baby Bijorn and I can say, this is SOOOO much more comfortable for mommy and baby. My husband also loves it and goes on long walks with baby on his back. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it is a little difficult to put baby on your back without help… But, it can be done. Just make sure to do it over a couch! Hope you enjoy yours as much as we love ours!

I love our organic Ergo and can’t wait to use it for our newborn when she’s a bit bigger. I found the Heart to Heart insert to be a bit unwieldy and honestly, I always worry about baby becoming overheated while in the insert and carrier. We used this wonderfully for her first two weeks, but now (at 10 weeks) she and I become so uncomfortably hot that I had to resort to Craigslist to get a Baby Bjorn Air. I know that the insert is to be used until she’s just 4 months, but with a newborn, that’s like a lifetime, so I’d say go with a Bjorn to start and then the Ergo if you can afford it. Baby is much happier, and mom is a lot cooler, literally. I know the longevity of the Ergo outweighs the Bjorn, but in the short term, I wouldn’t recommend it for a newborn.

I love this baby carrier! When I had my son I was gifted a Chicco baby carrier. I hated it as it was very hard on my back, even with a newborn. I have had back problems all my life and I knew that it would only cause more back problems as my son got older so I went and “splurged” on the Ergo. I am so glad I did, I have not had one aching back after use since I’ve purchased it. My husband and I took our son to India and Italy in May and used only the Ergo since we nixed taking the stroller along. My son (4 months old at the time) was so happy to be so close to us and neither my husband nor I had problems carrying him in the Ergo the whole trip. It was so easy to use the local train systems and buses and not have to hassle with a stroller. I read some other reviews on how the Ergo’s draw back is that babies can’t really be in a forward facing position, however, I found that putting the baby in the hip carrier position solves this problem. Anytime my baby gets fussy I switch him in the hip carry position and he can see the world and me. I also like using the Ergo at home to do chores as it keeps my baby happy and I’m still able to get stuff done. I highly recommend this to any parent with back problems and even those without.

I’ve tried a few carriers, and the reason I like this one is because it doesn’t hurt my back as bad to hold the baby in this carrier compared to others. I love the sun shade you can pull out(it comes in handy when baby falls asleep). If I had to say something bad, it would be that the heavy material is not very breathable and it is HOT! Especially since the baby is cuddled up right against you! It is also pretty easy to get the baby into the carrier! I highly recommend this even though it is a little bit expensive.

We bought a sling carrier because I thought they were so cute, but my baby HATED being in it so we had to look for another carrier. I went to a birthday party and 3 moms were wearing the ERGO baby carrier. I asked them about it and they all had only great things to say.
*3 ways to wear it- in front, back, or even on the side. I’ve only used front and back. I can easily put the baby in the front, but have a tough time putting him on my back without help. I think when he’s older and he can grab onto me I’ll be able to do it myself. Youtube has lots of videos if you want more info.
*Zippered pocket- Easy to keep things handy (fits my wallet, keys, and cell phone)
*Comfortable- It’s like a baby backpack with great padded straps. Baby’s weight is distributed perfectly so no back aches!
*Nap time- Baby falls asleep easily in the carrier and sometimes I’ll wear it around the house when he gets cranky. The flap that snaps and covers his head is great so I don’t have to worry that his head will roll around.
One thing I would recommend getting are the Ergo Sucking Pads. Baby sure does like to suck on the shoulder straps by his mouth. Ergo Baby Sucking Pads for Ergo Carrier – Cream
I highly recommend the carrier for moms with big babies (like mine). It’ll save your arms and back!
