Up until our daughter moved into a toddler bed we used a basic audio monitor. When it was time for the big move we were determined to find a video monitor to help give us a peace of mind with her new freedom! We have been using this monitor for about 2 months and love it! The picture is outstanding and the audio is perfect with no crackles or pops (had that a lot with the basic audio monitor previously used)
Bad things include short battery life after charging and the blue light on the handheld part is a little bright during the night.
Other than those things this monitor was a great buy for the price and quality.

I really can’t say anything good about this monitor. We don’t have a big house, but the signal between the monitor and the camera drops constantly. We simply cannot use the monitor when our kid’s in his crib, and we’re in our kitchen. No signal whatsoever. As the crow flies, the kitchen is 20 yards from the nursery. Maybe there’s a team of angry ninjas hiding in our floorboards, swinging their swords violently to interfere with our reception — I’m aware of that possibility, and accept that potential explanation. However, the signal’s dropping when we’re in our bedroom, ten yards from the nursery, on the same floor, with only one wall separating the two rooms is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the batter life is extremely short.
We thought all monitors were finicky like ours until we visited friends that had the Summer Best View. It was amazing – not only did it work all throughout our friends’ enormous house, we were informed that it also worked halfway down their block. Needless to say, we’re scrapping our Safety First Piece of Junk and buying that one. I am scrapping the Safety First — its that terrible.

I absolutely love this monitor! My Sony Baby Call monitor was giving me so much static, interference and beeping noises that I had to find something else. I found out my cable company runs on the same 900 mHz frequency as the Sony monitor, so I decided to buy a digital monitor. I also wanted to peace of mind to see my daughter in her crib. What a difference!! The clarity of sound is so clear, and the screen is plenty big to see my daughter. I also like being able to turn the video screen off, but still keep the sound on when I go to sleep. The only negative I can think of, is that the blue light on the part with the camera is pretty bright in the crib, so I just taped a piece of cardboard over it. No problem! This monitor is worth every penny!!!

Bottom line is it is a video monitor that works well and puts a parents mind at ease. Video quality is great and the audio is GREAT-better than the audio only monitors. Yes the blue light on the PARENT unit blinks when charging but so what. Tape over it if it bothers you that much. The ONLY negative I see is that the battery indicator does not indicate how much juice is left. It starts beeping when almost empty so you have to get it plugged in pretty fast. This wouldn’t stop me from buying it again though. I am very happy with my purchase. Glad I went with it over the Summer Infant non-digital model.

This monitor produces an excellent color picture during the day and not to bad in black and white during the night. The signal never fades even on the second story of my home or on the other side of it. Battery life on the monitor is about 4 hours or so, but I never cycled the battery and I usually always keep it plugged in. The only negatives are sometimes a pop sound comes from the monitor. It’s now very loud or often and only when the sound is on. I also wish that the camera itself had a battery pack for when I have my child somewhere other then his crib. Would I buy it again? Yes, but I would probably buy the next model up for the slightly larger screen.
