I’m always interested in what others have to state about items that I might buy. I am also always humored by two things:

“I just got X in the last week but here is what I think…”

AND

“It’s so difficult to set up…”

I do not usually write a review, but had to in this case. The Baby Jogger Performance Single Automobile Seat Adapter is easy to set up, contrary to what MANY reviewers have stated. I am not an engineer or a mechanic. I use my hands, but that is only to stick needles into people to cure diseases.

Basically, I took the Adapter, lined up the screw holes to the Jogger, and screwed the thing in. It took me about ten minutes, mostly because I was trying to find my screwdriver that my three year-old had borrowed.

Good luck. It’s a great item and my wife already adores it. Oh, and we have had it only about a week…hahaha.

Still using it!, December 12, 2007

My son is 7 months old and I still use the adapter, even though he is huge enough to sit in the Baby Jogger on his own. I get to interact with him, it’s easier for him to nap (his favorite thing to do when we head out for a run), and it’s easier to keep him bundled and warm in the colder weather. Also, the path I run on is alongside a busy road and having him in his automobile seat grants me to protect him from flying pebbles, exhaust, etc. Obviously, I have to switch him out soon, but it’s been such a great thing I have used since he was 2 weeks old! I have gotten my money’s worth!

Works well, but install is not obvious, September 12, 2009

I installed this adapter onto a 2001 Baby Jogger II, after calling Baby Jogger and learning that they sell the same adapter kit for all of their current jogging strollers with 20″ wheels, regardless of actual product name. The adapter works very well with our Graco infant seat now that it is installed, but the installation was not a trivial effort. No only did the adapter come with no instructions, but the instruction PDF that I found on Baby Jogger’s website is very vague and the photos are nearly worthless. Fortunately, I am a tinkerer and swiftly determined that the spacers on both the stroller and that came with this adapter were too big, so I just cut them down to size and found some extra washers in my toolbox. I had the adapter connected after about an hour of finding instructions, deciphering them, discarding them and, finally, doing my own thing.

I purchased the 9mth size for my 6mth old. As expected, it is massive on her. She is in the 75th percentile for height/weight. She seemed quite content and warm in this. The fleece around her face is soft. No trouble fitting her into the infant automobile seat or the Ergo carrier on my back. The hand and feet fold over to keep warm.

The pink is actually quite a nice pink. I would love to see some other colours available, and I do not just mean purple! I was initially not going to get this because I am a bit sick of pink but the only other option was navy blue and if a baby wears anything other than pink people assume she is a boy! When she is old enough to walk about in the snow I will buy this in the appropriate size.

I advocate this product.

This suit is very nice, it is exact as the picture, but I recived a wrong size and unfortunatly my baby can not use it.

Good twin errand stroller, but there might be superior alternatives, April 3, 2011

With three children under five I have had my fair share of double strollers. Given the large competition the Twin Techo now faces from other brands and types of strollers, I will just state it’s a good each day errand stroller for twins.

THE PROS

* Very simple to maneuver

* Fits through most exterior doors but not all indoor ones (doctor’s offices are especially difficult)

* Short length makes it suitable for indoor use (restaurants, malls)

* Relatively lightweight for a double at 27 lbs., but hardly simple to carry

* Somewhat compact when folded but very long (44″) – measure your trunk, it might not fit!

* Side carry handle distributes weight well

* High weight capacity

* Water resistant fabric on the hood

* Four recline positions, including a deep recline, grant for use with both babies and toddlers

* Adjustable footrests make the seat more comfortable for babies

* Canopies extend upwards several inches for taller children

* Reflective accents for increased safety

* Rain hood

* Redesigned harness buckle is impossible for children to open.

* The most inexpensive high-quality twin stroller in this price range

THE CONS

* Redesigned harness buckle is very hard for parents to open as well. It takes some practice but if you press the outside edges on the front (instead of the center) along with the button in back, it’s easier to open. Trim your nails just in case.

* The seats are on the narrow side – while my trim 32 lb 42″ son fits well in the Techno, I have my doubts as to how long my husky twins will be able to use it.

* Other mothers of multiples state that past age 2 the stroller gets harder to push. I have used it with two children with a combined weight of 45 lbs and had no problems, but I can’t vouch for heavier kids.

* It doesn’t come with carry strap, so you can’t throw over your shoulder if you need to carry a baby & diaper bag or if your toddlers want to walk.

* The wheels are small and work ideal on smooth pavement, city streets and malls. They can handle uneven surfaces like brick but do not work as well on grass and are hard to use on snow.

* You need both hands to push the stroller

* The cover is machine washable but very hard to take off

* The canopy is more massive than the Maclaren Triumph’s, but you might still need a sun canopy like the Protect-a-Bub Classic Sunshade – Twin – Navy.

* Two small mesh baskets but the stroller works well with either a Lassig Messenger Eco-Friendly Diaper Bag, Stones Black or a Skip Hop Duo Double Deluxe Charcoal. The price creeps up with this, of course.

* Multi step fold that usually requires propping it up against a wall or wheel to get some leverage. No way you can do this while holding your baby.

* To make it more comfortable for your child and easier to clean, think about getting Maclaren Seat Liner, Batik Black/Scarlet (many colors available) and or a matching Maclaren Techno XT Footmuff, Black

* Unfortunately, the JJ Cole Urban Toddler Bundle Me – Stealth does not work on this stroller as there is no way to attach it to the back; the Maclaren Universal Footmuff, Black drags against the wheels so it’s not a good fit either.

* No snack tray or bar (for that you need to get a full-size stroller) but the reality is, it’s safer to not have your baby munching on food while you are not seeing his face (if they begin choking you might not hear them, they do not always cough).

* The stroller does not store easily – it not stand-alone and it can’t be hung from hooks, so it’s either in the coat closet or lying flat in the foyer.

* It takes up the whole back of my minivan cargo area lying flat. However, I can put things like groceries on top or duffels underneath. It’s too tall to stand safely upright.

* For us at least, it’s too heavy and long to travel with as it might not fit all rental automobile trunks.

* hefty price compared to other umbrella style strollers but worth it if your main concerns are weight, quality and durability.

If you are looking for a stroller that reclines that you can use each day and still travel with, I advocate the Maclaren Twin Triumph Stroller, Coffee/Silver. At 22 lbs, it has a more compact and shorter fold than the Techno, along with…
